MXLink Live connecting with Women in Motorsport invited Larissa Papenmeier who is currently 2nd Overall in 2020 Women Motocross Championship and Avalon Biddle who raced to victory as first female to win NZSBK SSP 600 Title in 2019.
With couple of minor hitches with audio for Larissa, both Women shared their personal thoughts on dealing with circumstances of change, of making deliberate decisions to shift outside comfort zone for racing experience and how much family and close friends remains firmly top of list in their lives.
With Larissa gaining impressive WMX Round 2 win at Valkenswaard earlier this year, the Yamaha rider certainly shows tenacity and determination to gain all important points in what now are uncertain dates for remaining 4 WMX Rounds.
Not one to shy away from taking on board new challenges, Larissa states racing her first MX2 class at MXGP of China in 2019 came down to a budgeting decision, as wanting to race the best 250cc riders in the world was a great opportunity Lare didn’t want to miss.
A fact acknowledged by Avalon Biddle, making known how much she admires the WMX riders for their aggressive and physical style of racing, not least leaving out fact that Avalon clicks up to 220kms/p/h during her own racing events.
Such show of courage against all male field, Avalon stands at half-way point racing 2020 NZSBK Championship SSP 600 class with 2 Rounds remaining up in the air. Does uncertainty of when Avalon will get back on the track throw Av. in a loop- not really.
Having made deliberate decision to experience racing in Europe early in her career, Avalon has notched enough life and racing experiences to meet all-coming challenges head on- not to mention what it took to win Women’s European Cup in 2015 and 2016.
Both Women exchange personal conversation which is so refreshing from a journalist/film producer of content- as whole aim of MXLink Live is to connect Women and Motorsport athletes together, no matter which discipline they race in.
My thanks to Lare and Avalon for their time. Film edited of Live broadcast below.
