NZ’s Josiah Natzke wins European MX Championship 250cc Round 3 GP at Kegums, Latvia today, going 1-2 to take the Overall from 40 of the world’s most talented rider’s.
Nailing an impressive start in Race 1, taking the holeshot and leading the 14 lap race from start to finish, Natzke boosted his confidence heading into Race 2 the following day.
Hitting the holeshot line with sheer determination to stamp his mark on the tightly contested EMX 250cc class, Josiah lead lap 1 hotly pursued by Belgium’s Jago Geerts. Geerts upped the ante making the pass on Natzke, testing NZ’s # 33 nerve to hold firm his 2nd position from Series leader Italian Morgan Lesiardo.
Natzke proved he has what it takes to race, stay in control to take the GP Round win.
It was 2015 when Josiah shone his light on the world stage gaining a GP victory in Europe’s MX Championship 125cc class at Villars sous Ecot, France, rounding the Series with 2nd Overall.
2017 heralds a step up in class, and with Josiah showing he has what it takes to win, success is all the sweeter for the 17 year old.
European MX Championship 250cc class consists of 9 Rounds: Round 4 Ernee, France May 28th.
