Cole Davies proving #37 is more than just a SX guy – heading into the Final 2 Rounds of Pro MX250 Championship. With only 1 point separating Davies from Red Plate holder – Levi Kitchen – the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider will put his undeniable resilience to the test yet again, chasing down the win of the prestigous Title with 4 motos to go.

For certain, Davies has dominated results taking 4 overall wins from 9 Rounds including 7 moto wins, 3x 2nds, and 1x 3rd. As Cole states, starts have been crucially important to nail, as his preference for leading races up front compared to carving through the field affords greater options of line choice while avoiding roost. And, given the fact that Cole has only raced a handful of the Series tracks, and has produced top qualifying times on tracks viewed on race weekends, speaks volumes on his ability to deliver winning results in his rookie season.
Unpacking the data further, Cole’s mental strength comes into play more often than not, facing and rising above challenges – specifically when he was 25 points down. Who could of predicted that a crash in the opening lap at Spring Creek would puncture the bike’s fuel tank, resulting in Davies running out of fuel and causing a DNF? Then, who could expect that the 18 year old would toss that disappointment aside and pull off double moto wins at the following Round, clawing back valuable points in the Championship?

Undoubtedly, Cole has that dose of kiwi mongrel in him to win against America’s best SX and MX rider’s in his first full Pro SX250 and MX250 Championship season. To claim victory in AMA SX250 East Championship earlier this year was certainly a feat to celebrate, to take Pro MX250 Championship in 2 weeks time would be another celebration entirely.
