Mireia Badia shares her thoughts on racing Women’s Enduro World Championship Final Round this weekend – leading standings with 152 points. The Rieju Factory RFME National Team rider has produced exemplary results over the Series, taking two Race 2 wins in Rounds 1 and 2 in Portugal, followed by double race wins in Round 3 in Italy, followed by 1-1 in Round 4 in Wales.

Specifically, Mireia’s stand-out performances have remained incredibly consistent against equally competitive rider’s, a testament to the focus, dedication, and committment the Spanish rider has displayed having finished P2 overall in 2022 and 2021. Inspired and motivated to improve her race-craft from one season to the next, Mireia personifies the belief that hard work does produce results, as she only needs 3 points to secure Women’s Enduro World Championship this coming weekend.

Mireia: ”My main focus for the weekend is finish the race because only I need to take three points for the title, but of course I will do my best like always!”

Combining a wealth of experience racing Spanish Enduro Championships from 2016 to present day, along with competing in ISDE finishing P3 in Women’s World Trophy Individual in 2022, Mireia has refined her race-craft to obtain maximum results in one of the most physically, technically, and mentally demanding of sports.

Having covered Round 3 in Italy in June, MXLink witnessed first-hand the level of intensity which rider’s endure through-out the GP weekend. From navigating the logistical changes of race venues, to completing specials within time limits, to racing varying terrain within Cross, Enduro, and Extreme tests, all women compete on level playing field as their male counterparts.

Mireia: ”For this year, I have tried to improve mentally – to believe in myself fully, and of course carry out good training with the bike and physical training. I have tried to focus and train on the difficult things, for the Extreme test and Super Test too”.

”I think that I’m good when I have to adapt to different terrains. For example, to prepare for racing Round 4 in Wales, I went and trained there for four days before the GP with my teammate Rosie Rowett. And, as always I try to train on similar terrains for every race as well”.

Heading into the Final Round in Brioude, France this weekend, Mireia will have all eyes focused on gaining her first ever Women’s Enduro World Championship Title – a victory worth celebrating, for sure.
