Rachael Archer heads into final 3 Rounds in GNCC WXC racing Mason-Dixie this weekend carrying momentum of nailing triple wins in Rounds 8, 9 and 10. Standing solid 2nd Overall in Championship, Rachael is none the less all fired up to make it 4 in a row and close points to leader, Becca Sheets.
In fact, Archer has excelled in only 2nd year racing America’s prestigious Grand National Cross-Country Series standing on podium 7 out of 10 races putting paid to any doubts that the 18 year old has what it takes to fight for the Championship Title right down to the final chequered flag.
Rachael: ‘Looking forward to Mason Dixon this weekend. I’m excited to see if I can go 4 in a row, I know I’m capable of doing it!
‘My main focus this weekend and the next 2 after that is to be consistent, ride a strategic race and stay up right. I will be putting everything on the line in order to try win a championship’.
‘I’ve been putting in the work and it’s definitely showing so let’s keep the streak going and see if I can bring home the #1 plate!
With plenty of self-belief developed over course of past couple of years racing overseas, Rachael’s positive mind-set highlights how far a female can carry a goal all the way to the top. Far cry, from growing up on South Waikato farm back home in good-ole-NZ.
GNCC WXC Round 11 Mason-Dixie October 10-11th.
