Mireia Badia shares her thoughts on racing ISDE Women’s World Trophy 2024. Completing Days 1 – 6 with Team Spain, Mireia set precedent for achieving best possible results finishing P2, P3, P2, P7, P6, and P14 rounding out the race in P4 overall in Individual category.
For certain, Mireia states dealing with wet, muddy, and slippery track conditions tested her resolve to sustain speed without too many crashes, and so did carrying out bike maintenance after long days of riding from transfer to specials: x 6 days. In fact, Mireia along with team-rider’s: No Anitua Esteban and Maria San Miguel pitched their bike skills against equally competitive line-up of women knowing the ultimate challenge would be finish as a Team on Day 6.
Mireia: ”The main challenges were the muddy conditions because with that the mechanics parts of the bike suffers more and we need to take more care about it! Obviously, the physical part is important because it’s a lot of hours on the bike every day”.
”Yes, it’s important to push in the special tests and try to rest in the transfer because if you push everywhere you will be more tired. Of course, recovery is important every day – like the ice bath, massage, and a good diet”.
For Mireia, racing ISDE WWT has been an accumulative experience -with all knowledge and skills gained contributing to forward movement of her racing career. Certainly, the results of finishing ISDE WWT in 2016 in P2 in Teams, 2018 in P3 in Teams, 2021 in P3 in Teams and Individual, and 2022 in P3 in Individual have been invaluable for cementing her standing and credence to race from one season to the next.
Such consistency of results not only bodes well for attracting sponsors, but also serves as a valuable asset for Brands to align with, to showcase their trade-mark bikes with a rider racing World Championships. Mireia’s partnership with Rieju Factory has certainly been successful, with the Spanish rider proving a winning formula for the Madrid based Brand, winning Women’s Enduro World Championship in September, and racing with Team Spain in ISDE WWT, on Rieju 300 2T.
Undoubtedly, managing Mireia’s racing career is about gaining winning results to increase leverage for attaining financial endorsements to race. The full circle is complete when – the rider stands on the top step of the podium exposing Brand of bike and contributing sponsors – while at the same time – Brands and industry providers gain increased recognition of their products to the audience following.
Heading into the new season, Mireia can rest assured that her options to race specifically targeted events have jumped in leaps and bounds, knowing that her performance and results in the past seasons have manifested to a well recognized race portfolio. And, those facts alone, are worth their weight in gold.
