Maximize Media content on WMX – over 7 Rounds this season. Why? Straight up – Women competing in Women’s Motocross World Championship race only 7 GP weekend’s this season – 14 races plus 7 Qualifying opportunities to showcase their skills, talents, and technical expertise in front of fans and followers watching track-side and around the globe.
Breaking down the facts even further, WMX rider’s not only race 14x per season to gain maximum points, but also push exposure of Brand, sponsors, partners, and industry providers within 7 GP weekend’s via Media posts produced by the promoter’s and organizer’s or the rider’s and Teams themselves. The flow-on effect of content promotion boosts visibility for all above which in turn generates views on who supports who on the track.
Calculations on how to extend reach of content within mere 7 GP weekend’s requires careful planning and execution on what moments, comments, images, and vision to capture – and how to display snap-shots to audience browsing online. Keeping the overall objective in mind – to gain maximum exposure of rider and support industries to viewers – timing on capturing content which attracts attention – posted within duration of GP weekend remains key to successful viewing results.
Take an example of MXLink covering WMX at MXGP of Italy. The main goal was to provide written and visual previews, interviews, and race analysis on women competing in Round 5 at Maggoira from Friday through to Sunday post Race 2. Compared to production of Media content based remotely in NZ, capturing specific content at a GP requires working within time-frames of rider’s whose main focus is on preparations to race.
For certain, having worked with WMX rider’s from the Opening Round in Qatar in 2016 through to the present day, along with extensive knowledge on current demands of viewer engagement online – communications, trust, reliability, vision, and delivering content within specified time-frame has been the trade-mark of MXLink’s work.
With schedule planned, visual previews of track were completed and posted on Friday, interviews with 2 rider’s: Daniela Guillen and Lynn Valk were completed the same day, and snap-shot of comments from Kiara Fontanesi, Daniela, and Lynn were produced in reel – all posted on socials. Preview of track conditions were highlighted in reel on Saturday morning as precursor to Qualifying, with short visuals capturing rider lap-times – specifically Courtney Duncan who went pole.
As race day progressed, pivots were required on creation of content due to weather affecting Race 1 – which was cancelled – with rain turning track conditions into a muddy mess. By switching objectives – MXLink Media focused on capturing the challenging conditions WMX rider’s faced heading into Race 2 on Sunday. Images and vision of mud and slop on bikes, gear, and rider’s who tried in despair to navigate the slippery track surface exposed the dire circumstances these women embraced to a global audience following online.
Post Race 2, eyes turned to top 3 rider’s on podium, filming behind the scenes interviews conducted by MXGP TV, along with capturing rider’s emotions on taking the win, P2, and P3. Within tight time-frame, article on WMX Round 6 was completed, followed by final interview with Kiara Fontanesi in Team set-up in paddock, for editing the following day.
With main goals completed, Media content extended reach to market audience via up-close-and-personal visuals and comments pre-during and post racing. Most certainly, filming at starts provided superb capture on how rider’s enter final preparations to race, along with one-on-one interviews which opens dialogue on rider’s thoughts on racing WMX Rounds from one season to the next.
Within the context of maximizing production of Media content on WMX over 7 Rounds – three points stand out loud and clear. 1: Utilize credibility developed over the years to produce best possible visual and written content on selected rider’s from Friday through to post Race 2 on Sunday. 2: Spearhead production of Media content on and off the track capturing rider’s personal experiences racing WMX Round. 3: Roll out content under tight time-frame to gain maximum exposure of rider, Brand, sponsors, partners, and industry provider’s otherwise not captured during TV coverage.
