Such a striking mind-set sums up Lynn’s approach to racing WMX, when the highs of standing on the podium are rewards for all the hard work pre-racing, and the lows are equal in measure – taking more than a smile on the face to move on. In fact, Lynn has loads of perseverance under her helmet as she operates training away from home, in Germany, adapts bike technique to race varied terrain – having grown up riding on sand – as well as push through the unlucky moments of racing to shine brightly in the next race on the track.

Fans and followers track-side saw a trace of such determination when Lynn secured her first double moto win in 2022 Round 2 in Portugal, having secured P2 in the Opening Round in Mantova going 1 – 2. Finishing the season in P2 overall, Lynn proceeded to push herself even further, nailing P2 in 2023 Round 3 in Spain, P3 in Round 5 at Arnhem, and P2 in the Final Round in Turkey, winning Race 2 to round out the season.

Competing in WMX 2024 has produced tight, competitive racing through-out the season, and one gets a sense that such intensity suits Lynn’s persona – enabling her to rise above the pressure and deliver results on track. Take the changeable track conditions in Germany and Maggoira, when rain destroyed the finely, groomed tracks into a muddy shambles – Lynn showcased her incredible skill and talent to leverage a gap on the field, taking the overall win in Round 5 in Italy.

Lynn: ”The season has been good this year, overall – ups and downs but I guess that’s racing. The level of competition has been a lot higher then last year so there has been a lot of intense racing. P3 is solid, not where I want to be yet, but let’s keep improving and keep working. We definitely had it all this season – all weather circumstances, that’s nice. If we would have one terrain all year it would have been boring so it definitely keeps it interesting”.

Focusing on WMX Final Round 7 at Turkey, and Lynn remains composed knowing she has perfected her hard-pack riding skills, which has complimented her sand racing on the tracks back home in the Netherlands. And, capping off the season with such a formidable mind-set that racing is only as good as the last result, Lynn stays poised to tackle the weekend with surety of heart, mind, and spirit.

Lynn: ”My main goals are to be consistent in every race, take good starts and then keep fighting with the girls. It’s nice to see the level increase and it surely will for next year – so it will be interesting”.
