Lynn Valk has put up great performance in European EMX Women Opening Round in Italy at the weekend, finishing 3rd Overall – very pleasing result given the 16 year old was up against Women MX World Champion 4x Steffi Laier.
#172: ‘I took a decent start in both races. First race I made a little mistake and Steffi passed me but I was happy with my third place. The second race I had a good battle with Line Dam. After the middle of the race I took a small gap and finished third again. Overall third and we are happy with the results’.
Making most of gaining as much race-time as possible in between long gaps of WMX Rounds, Lynn slots everything in with remarkable ease.
Backed by all important family and friends support, #172 forges great working relationships with her Mum and Dad, along with supporting her brother Cas racing MX calendar- a superb family MX unit.
#172: ‘We have one week holiday now- me and my mom and will stay in Italy and go riding on hard-pack tracks. Thursday we leave for France for the next EMX Women Round. After France we go back home and I go to work and school and then we go to Denmark. There we go with the whole family’.
With EMX Women Round 2 in France this coming weekend, Round 3 in Denmark following week, then racing WMX Championship Round at Agueda MXGP week after, and 4th of 5 EMX Women Round 7 days later, Lynn loves sense of maintaining momentum with 4 weeks straight racing.
#172: . ‘I like the back to back racing you stay in the rhythm for races which helps prepare for the WMX Round in Agueda. I like the track in Portugal, I’ve raced there already two times. I’m looking forward to that race and also to see the team again’.
Speaking with Lynn, what comes across clear as- is her sense of knowing what she wants. What’s enjoyable, what is positive take on racing, what’s next. Definitely Lynn’s personality speaks volumes for making her goals attainable.
Currently 6th Overall in Women MX World Championship, Lynn remains unfazed by the task ahead: racing EMX Women 5 Round Series and WMX 5 Round Series- racing against seasoned WMX riders.
#172: ‘Its always good to ride with good female riders so the level of racing is high and I can try to improve myself. I like riding with all the girls who ride the WMX they help me get stronger for the future’.
