Lia Block heads into F1 Academy 2024 with Williams Driver Academy and ART Grand Prix Team. Such a defining transition to open wheel competition not only opens new pathways of progression in Lia’s racing career, but also provides new opportunities to develop as a driver, professional athlete, and role model for future generations competing in Motorsport.

Given Lia’s tremendous aptitude for racing varying disciplines – from Karting, to Rally, to all-electric Extreme E Series, to winning American Rally Association 2WD National Championship in 2023 – Lia’s next chapter offers enormous scope and scale to enhance her racing capabilities amongst equally determined female driver’s.

The most important aspects of taking on board such a courageous move has been the announcement of Lia joining Williams Driver Academy. Key elements on the association are: gaining expertise knowledge, technical intel, and support on racing single-seater cars, along with SIM work and learning new tracks which will ultimately prove pivotal when the Series kicks off in Jeddah on March 7 – 9.

Second, will be having British driver Jamie Chadwick – who joined Williams Driver Academy in 2019 – as role model for all important discussions on where learning curves need to be taken on board, as the Series ramps up the heat amongst 15 driver line-up.

Third, will be experiencing all facets of ART Grand Prix Team which has established long history of victories on track, through developing driver race-capabilities within the tier ladder of Motorsport. Lia will be joined by Bianca Bustamente – supported within McLaren Driver programme, and recently announced Aurelia Nobel – supported within Ferrari Driver Academy.

Having competed in Formula Winter Series race in Spain, followed by pre-season testing in Jeddah this week, Lia has made massive strides to realize racing ambitions over short period of time. To sum up such a major transition in a few words, hardly does justice for Lia’s presence of mind to reach, grab, and make most of opportunities offered. Full credit to the American, who could well set in motion, what’s coming next.
