Kristen Matlock will compete in Dakar Rally 2021 for very first time with Polaris RZR Factory Racing Team along with husband Wayne Matlock and Craig Scanlon. Having carved a very successful race career in relatively short 4 year period, Kristen has gained massive amounts of respect for her doer drive to win.
With first place finishes in the Desert Vegas to Reno race and the SCORE Tijuana Desert Challenge, Kristen gained recognition when presented with 2017 Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame Impact Award.
Successive wins followed with an astounding victory at the SCORE Baja 500 Overall UTV category beating out every UTV on the track. In 2019, Kristen had back-to-back wins at the SCORE San Felipe 250 and was able to earn her first win at the SCORE Baja 1000. (reference Polaris.com).
Preparations are well underway to race 2021 Dakar Rally with Polaris RZR Factory Racing Team with husband Wayne and Craig Scanlon. Each will compete in their own SSV with co-pilots Sam Hayes, Max Eddy and Keith Redstone in respective order.
What does all this mean to Kristen: ‘Throughout our years of racing, Wayne and I have comprised a bucket list. From day one, the Dakar Rally has been at the very top! It’s nearly impossible to express what this opportunity means to me in words. I am filled with many emotions right now from excitement to fear! I’m so honoured to represent the United States of America on Factory Polaris RZR Team USA!!
