NZ’s Josiah Natzke conquered Round 5 of European Motocross Championship at Villars sous Ecot in France this weekend winning the Overall with 1-1 Race wins.
Winning by margins of 7 seconds in Race 1 and 6 seconds in Race 2, Natzke showed true dominance in the full gate 40 rider EMX 125cc class finishing ahead of KTM Factory Junior Team-mate and Championship leader Jorge Prado of Spain.
Nailing his first Overall Round win of the European MX Championship season, Natzke is edging his points tally to within 15 points of the leader making the next 3 Rounds as exciting as it can get.
Josiah says: ‘After 5 Rounds I finally got it so I’m very happy. I’m slowly chipping away at it and hopefully I’ll just keep my head down and keep working hard and try and live every day as it comes and just see what happens’.
Stefan Everts KTM Factory Junior Team (10 x World Champion) is more than pleased with Josiah’s result:
Stefan: ‘Josiah was by far the fastest guy of the weekend. He confirmed his form and also why I took him on board and what I expected him to do. He is just 15 points behind and there are 3 Rounds to go so anything is possible. It’s going to be an exciting Championship to watch’.
Round 6: Maggiora, Italy June 14th.
