Dylan Walsh– what a brilliant result! It really couldn’t be more perfect for the Revo Husqvarna UK rider, not only did Dylan win Maxxis British MX Championship Round 6 at Hawkstone Park posting 1-1 victory, but capped off tremendous result with qualifying pole as well.
Having tasted success earlier in year winning Race 2 in pre-season racing Hawkstone International in February, #53 sliced through any doubts of success when he nailed hole-shot, led from start to finish in both motos, leading rest of field by 45 seconds by R2.
#53: ‘Yeah it was a great day. I just wanted to focus on myself all day- that’s what I did and it ended up being a perfect day’.
With the hard-pack circuit, steep elevations and sand based sections, Dylan was so keen to get out there and do it- given Team Revo Husqvarna UK’s decision to opt out of attending MXGP’s of Indonesia 3 weeks previous.
And silver linings were found. Walsh nailed all important wins and also extended points lead in Overall MX2 Championship by 12 digits.
#53: ‘It’s actually normally really sandy but today it was dry so wasn’t as deep. I gated to the left of the box both motos and to grab both holeshots was perfect’.
‘I was pretty confident coming into this weekend because I went well at the Hawkstone International earlier in the year. And, because I didn’t go to Indonesia I was able to spend a couple weeks working my ass off so it was good to see it pay off’.
And Walsh has got to be more than pleased with 12 point buffer heading into busy back-to-back race weekends with MXGP of Loket this coming weekend, followed by Lommel, then Maxxis Round 7 of 8 at Foxhill.
#53: ‘Yeah it’s a decent lead but I’ll just focus weekend by weekend and try to be consistent- top 10 in GP’s. Then, bring home the Title in the British’.
