Dylan Walsh produced top racing at Round 2 World MX Championship MX2 at Matterley Basin GP in UK this weekend, finishing 8th Overall and ramping up # 53 points standing to 13th Overall in MX2 Championship.
Results were quite a step-up from Opening MXGP/MX2 Round in Argentina 3 weeks previous, with Dylan not only nailing starts, running up-front with leaders, but also taking on board tough battles with riders- particulalry German’s Henry Jacobi not giving space or line for track position.
Dylan shares his thoughts on racing:
#53: Yeah it was a positive weekend. I had good starts all weekend and battled up front both motos. It was a big learning curve but I got better each time and I’m getting used to running that pace up the front so was good to make improvements’.
With notable confidence in attacking riding style this weekend, along with changes made post Argentina and Maxxis Round One, Dylan and Team pool learning experiences post racing to make improvements happen.
#53: Myself and the team made good changes on the bike and I’ve been trying to change my mentality during the weekend. With next 2 GP’s back to back there will not be much time for fine-tuning but I’ll stick to my program and focus on the things that can help me get that little bit better each weekend’.
Running support for Canterbury with red and black on bike graphics, Riders gear, this was so special not only for Dylan and his home city Christchurch, but also for NZ’ders back home.
It was quite a commitment from Team Principle Mark Yates, and that has to be recognised that Revo Husqvarna UK Team are the ‘real deal, honest, hard-working and have Dylan’s back all the way.
#53: Yeah the red and black colours was awesome as. Canterbury is my home and my team are wicked! We all have a good relationship and want the best for each other so it works well’.
