Having made the shift to race single-seater Formula 4, Doriane shares excitement on selection to compete in the FIA Motorsports Games grass-roots category which will see: ‘”mixed female/male pairings tackle an obstacle course using a relay format. All entrants must be aged between 14 and 16 and will compete with identical electric-powered karts”‘ reference Karting Slalom Cup.
Doriane: ‘It’s incredible! I was chosen to represent France at FIA Motorsport Games thanks to my title of Champion of France this year in April! It’s a great experience! I can not wait to be there’.
‘I do not know the Slalom race format but it will be fun. In any case, we will work well with Esteban Masson (2019 French Karting Junior Champion) to win the gold medal’.
Format of the Karting Slalom Cup has been announced: ‘For the FIA Motorsport Games, two equal slalom tracks of approximately 70 metres will be created at Vallelunga Circuit near Rome. Following practice runs, participants will complete three laps of each course behind the wheel of an e-kart. The first tour will be a test run, while laps two and three will be timed’.
‘The combined times for each nation will establish an overall leaderboard, with the fastest teams progressing to a knockout phase. The next four rounds will be head-to-head time trials, culminating in the gold medallists emerging during the final’. Reference FIA Motorsport Games.
With the benefit of developing her F4 racing skills competing in the Winfield Challenge, Doriane has clocked up additional race kms as well as acknowledgement from her racing peers.
Doriane: ‘This experience was great. I learned a lot about the car on the track. I had the chance to drive on the Paul-Ricard circuit! It is awesome! I had the opportunity to meet Jarno Trulli who congratulated me for my good commitment and my driving skills!
Receiving recognition for outstanding performance on the track, Doriane was awarded special opportunity of ‘2 days of F4 testing on the Paul Ricard circuit with the FFSA Academy. Included in the training was simulator work, physical and mental preparations and coaching with the Winfield Racing school.
Doriane: ‘This award was a great opportunity for me. I was able, thanks to this prize, to train again on the Paul-Ricard circuit and to continue learning by getting closer to the times of the winner of the race. But necessarily it is not what I wanted, because my objective is to win racing F4′.
Looking ahead to competing in 2019 FIA Motorsport Games Karting Slalom Cup, Doriane Pin has that one goal in mind- t0 win!
Doriane: ‘My goal is to win with Esteban the gold medal. It would be incredible!’
