Cole Davies wins Pro 250MX Championship 2026 in his first full season racing America’s Pro Outdoors. The Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider held a 14 points lead heading into the Final Round at Ironman Raceway, winning the coveted Title with a moto to spare. Smart race strategies, mental dexterity, and sheer will power to execute the win has etched #37’s name in NZ’s Motorsport history having won AMA Pro 250SX East Championship earlier this year.

As hard as it is to comprehend how quickly Davies has risen in the ranks against America’s best MX and SX rider’s, the 19 year old has downright impressed all competing and watching track-side for his laser-like focus on achieving goals. Proving that the earlier comment ‘Cole is just a SX guy…’ was way out of context, Davies results speak blindingly clear taking 4 overall wins – including 8 race wins, 3x 2nd’s, and 3x 3rd’s from 11 Rounds.
Delving deeper into race stats reveals not all went to plan with a DNF at Round 7, Spring Creek at Millville which dropped Cole 25 points down from the leader. In case anyone was wondering how Davies would recover from the race incident – which was marred by a crash, puncturing the bike’s fuel tank and causing it to run out of fuel part-way through the race – was instantly reminded that the kiwi was above anyone else on the track going 1 – 1 at the following Round 8 at Washougal.

Known for his ability to analyze his race performance, noting where improvements can be made – from nailing starts, bike settings, along with management of health and well being pre-during and post racing – Cole sets precedent on how he has produced winning results so early in his career. For sure, it has been 19 years since NZ’s Ben Townley won Pro 250SX East Championship followed by finishing 2nd in Pro 250MX Championship – all of which makes the guy from Waitoki, NZ such a phenomenon to watch and celebrate his success.
