Cole Davies heads into SX250 East at Indianapolis with eyes fixed on standing on the top step of the podium. Taking 5th in the Opening Round at Arlington followed by 2nd at Daytona Beach at the weekend, the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider proved his combo of ultra fast speed coupled with mental strength of mind will nail the win sooner rather than later.

Setting the fastest lap time in SX250 Main of 1:18.693, Davies not only dominated sector times in S2, S5, and S6 but also carried out 10+ positive changes in track positions from 12th at the hole-shot to 2nd at the finish. In contrast, Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider – Seth Hammaker – grabbed the hole-shot and led to the chequered clocking his best lap-time of 1:19.024 with Red Plater holder – Pierce Brown – posting best lap of 1:19.968 to finish 3rd.
Davies: “They didn’t prep the gates all day, so I didn’t get good traction out the gate and was buried off the start. It was a good comeback. I did what I could. I wanted that win, but still a good ride.” Ref: Monster Energy SMX World Championship.

Having completed his debut season in SX250 West Championship in 2025, Davies leans into the knowledge gained from racing against tough competition. Finishing 3rd overall – and taking his first podium at Arlington Triple Crown – followed by a maiden win at Seatle and victory at Philadelphia last season – Davies confidently states ‘”last year was a learning season for me and I can bring all that experience into this year to fight for the Championship”‘. With 7 Rounds to race, including Triple Crowns at this weekend’s Round 9 at Indianapolis and Round 14 at Cleveland, along with 3 Showdowns at Round 10, Birmingham, Round 12 at St Louis, and the Final Round 17 at Salt Lake City – 18 year old Cole Davies will be on target to win as well as on the radar for those watching.
