NZ’s Brodie Connolly has already gained successful results racing Mini’s, Juniors, Nationals in New Zealand and Australia, along with recent podium in Australia’s SX Championship 2nd Overall 85cc class 2017.
At 14 years of age, Brodie lives, breaths and loves having fun riding and racing, planning where to race, on what terrain juggling school, part-time job and gym-time every week.
Having stepped up to KTM SX 125cc this year, Brodie is already hanging out for the 250cc in between throwing plenty of whips at near-by practice tracks from the family’s home in Tauranga, NZ.
Having been selected to represent NZ in FIM Junior Motocross World Championship 2018 at Horsham, Australia August 25th, 26th, Brodie remains calm, composed and matter of fact on competing in the highest Junior MX event in the world.
As he says: ‘I don’t plan that much the night before, after dinner I go to bed and the next morning when I’m on the line, Dad will just say, good luck and have fun, and I’m then kinda in my own mind-set just thinking about getting a good start, which leads to a good race, I think’.
We caught up with Brodie and family at their home, filming a story on Brodie in preparation to race Junior MX World Championship the coming weekend.
