AMA SX250 East division stats from Arlington and Daytona Beach. After the opening 2 Rounds, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider – Pierce Brown – holds the Red Plate with 45 points ahead of Monster Energy Pro Circuit – Seth Hammaker – on 43 with Team Honda HRC Progressive rider – Jo Shimoda rounding out the top 3 on 40 points. Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing – Cole Davies – stands 6 points adrift from his team-rider on 39 and Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory – Daxton Bennick – completes the top 5 positions on 37 points.

A deep dive into the stats on SX250 East at Arlington reveals who gained advantage of track positions from gate-drop to the finish, who dominated sectors, and who completed best lap times throughout the 20 lap race. Grabbing the hole-shot – Jo Shimoda – put down his best lap time of 49.571 in Lap 2, dominated sector 8 – the sweeper – by 4.521 seconds to finish 2nd overall. #163 – Pierce Brown – placed 3rd around the first turn, nailed his best lap time of 50.095 in Lap 3, made the pass on Shimoda in Lap 6 to take the overall win.

Daxton Bennick placed 4th around the hole-shot to set his best lap time of 49.920 in Lap 2, dominated sector 6 – inside rhythm section 3 – to nail valuable 20 points for 3rd overall. Seth Hammaker set the fastest lap time in the SX250 Main of 49.543 in Lap 4, one change in track position from 5th around the hole-shot to 4th completed his standings for the race. The biggest come back of the night was Cole Davies placed 17th at the first turn to finish 5th overall. Making up 8 positions by Lap 7, Davies set his best lap time of 49.561, dominated sectors 4 and 7 to round out the top 5 at Arlington.

AMA SX250 East at Daytona Beach tested rider’s ability to race on changeable track conditions with Seth Hammaker taking the hole-shot and leading from the start to the finish. Setting his best lap time of 1:19.024 in Lap 2, Hammaker gained valuable 25 points to place 2nd overall in the Championship. Even without the best jump out of gate, Cole Davies went from 5th to 2nd putting in the fastest lap time of the night – 1:18.693 – to cross the finish in 2nd. Davies dominated sectors 2, 5, and 6 boosting his standings to 4th overall.

Pierce Brown was the only rider on the podium from the previous Round at Arlington, nailing his best lap time of 1:19.968 in Lap 3, finishing 3rd. Jo Shimoda ran 2nd before a crash in the sand in Lap 10 which shuffled him back to 4th while Daxton Bennick went from 8th to 5th, setting the fastest sector 1 time of 14.323. All up – next weekend’s Round at Indianapolis could well be another game changer for Championship points standings.
