2022 Dakar Rally has been officially presented outlining details of 12 Stages routes in Saudi Arabia starting from Ha’il on January 2nd and finishing at Jeddah on January 14th. In truly magnificent style, not only does the 44th edition of Dakar host racing the world’s most grueling Rally for Bike, Car, Lightweight Vehicles, SSV, Quad, Truck, and Dakar Classic categories, but also for Dakar Future racing to lessen carbon footprint in Motorsport.

In context, 2022 Dakar Rally represents ‘new face’ within FIA World Rally Raid Championship which will comprise of 5 events: Dakar Rally, Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, Rally Kazakhastan, Andalucia Rally and Maroc du Rally on October 2022.

Such coalesce of the world’s highest profile Rallies with ASO as main promoter not only sets precedent on the scope and breadth of diversity of partnerships within Motorsport, but also delivers a sustainable platform for life-long durability of the sport along with respective personal, athletes and Brands.

2022 Dakar Rally 3rd chapter in Saudi Arabia yields high levels of anticipation on how each rider, driver, Team and crew will make it all come together over course of 12 Stages. At the same time, viewers are treated to visual relays on what is happening through-out each day’s racing from aerial footage, Media feeds, Live results, social media posts- all making the viewer feel-the-experience of Dakar without actually being there. A feat in itself.

With total of 1,065 drivers (inclusive of Dakar Classic) of which are: 209 Rookies, 130 Legends, 34 Original by Motul (No Assistance), from 63 Nationalities, with 60 Women and 5 Female only crews- 2022 Dakar is set to be a stunner. Add Dakar Future category which will drive the sport’s transition to alternative based fuels by 2030, the toughest race is about to begin.

Competitors will traverse total distance of more than 8,000kms of which 4,300kms will be timed, reaching Saudi’s capital city Riyadh for Rest Day on January 8th, before heading out to the Red Sea for 2nd leg and Final Stage 12 at Jeddah on January 14th. Count-down is on!
