Taking Round One victory at Loket with double moto wins, Duncan looked set to steer her bid for 3rd WMX Championship Title as repeat performance of previous 2 years. However, as ever racing remains unpredictable for the best riders with Round 2 the following weekend at Lommel throwing number of curve balls- not least racing the deep sands of Flanders-Belgium GP.

Finishing 4th Overall, Courtney re-grouped to come out swinging at Round 3 in Turkey going 2-1 for the Round win, yet there were real challenges to overcome from fast and furious WMX 6x Champion Kiara Fontanesi pushing Duncan each and every lap.

WMX Round 4 – double header at Turkey proved how demanding winning the Championship can be, with Duncan having to settle for 2nd podium step of the Round, as Fontanesi took the Overall. Courtney currently holds the Red Plate with slender 9 point margin over Fontanesi.

With all passion on the line, there is no doubt Courtney has ramped up level of racing within WMX. From 2016 Round One victory to nailing her first Women Motocross World Championship in 2019. The sheer magnitude of posting 8 Round wins back-to-back in ‘019 coupled with taking WMX Title the following year- which was down to Final Race and count-back in points for the win- Duncan has nothing to prove on the track.

Yes, the hard lessons have been harsh to deal with and the out-of-comfort zone living and racing so far from home makes close family and friends support that much less. Each circumstance has most certainly fine-tuned the 25 year old’s resolve to go get all that she started number of years ago.

Are we in for hum-dinger on who will win 2021 WMX Championship in 4 weeks time? You bet! For sure, CD #151 carrying Red Plate #1 will be there fighting for top spot all the way to final chequered flag.
