Battles on the track are predicted with 2015 NZ MX1 Champion Cody Cooper (Honda Racing) vying for top podium spot prior to 2016 NZ MX Nationals which start the following week. To keep Coops honest Rhys Carter (3twenty3racing), Hamish Harwood (CML Racing), Brad Groombridge (Action Moto Hawera) and Scott Columb (Whyteline Kawasaki) will turn the heat up at gate drop.

New Zealand’s only Motocross Grand Prix attracts International riders with no other than Australia’s Todd Waters (MC2 Racing), JCR Yamaha’s Dean Ferris and Argentina’s Joaquin Ferrandez (MC2 Racing) providing added depth to the MX1 field.

MX2 hosts a top field with qualifying times top of the list for riders: Kayne Lamont (JCR Yamaha), Josiah Natzke (KTM) Hamish Harwood, Courtney Duncan (JCR Yamaha), along with up-coming Trent Collins (Blue Wing Honda).

Courtney Duncan will prove yet again what she is made of: a tonne of courage and determination racing 2 classes with one race in between MX2 and Women’s.

The weekend tops the fun factor for fans with the River Race on Sunday, proving MOMCC holds a winning formula for MX riders, family, friends, and mainstream public.
